Hey friends,
I'm getting ready to graduate with my B.S. in Applied Math in a few weeks, and as such I'm in the middle of a job hunt. I've got a phone interview Tuesday with a casino gaming/slots company for a mathematician position. It looks like a great fit and I meet all the requirements in the job listing besides "Strong expertise in combinatorics, probability theory, and statistics".
I've got a decent background in probability and statistics, having taken a couple basic probability courses and a Bayesian stats course, but I'm not a stats major or anything. I've also done some combinatorics applications in the context of operations research and game theory courses but I've never taken a combinatorics class.
So I'm just trying to brush up on what I can before my interview! Does anyone have any suggestions on books/videos to check out or particularly important concepts that I would seem dumb not knowing going into a casino games company? My biggest weakness is in combinatorics but I welcome suggestions from any area of mathematics.
Thanks much!!
