Through my time at university I have had multiple talented classmates exclaim that they wanted nothing to do with topology. I asked one of them why and they said it was because there wasn't much computation required for the subject and it's mostly applying definitions. Meanwhile, learning and applying definitions has become my favorite part of mathematics and I am looking forward to taking topology.
I'm curious whether this computation/definition dichotomy is common among mathematicians and, if so, whether it has influenced your opinion regarding subjects like topology.
