I'm a mature student studying maths at a UK university by distance. Originally I just picked the degree out of boredom and a challenge. Challenge it most certainly has been but I've started to really enjoy it and actually appreciate mathematics as a subject.
Not sure what the future holds beyond four years, I'm just looking forward to completing and having a good time doing so.
It made me wonder why do we study it? For the rest of you mathmos out there, why do/ did you study maths? Career decision? Personal interests? An intellectual challenge? Also, what is the one thing you enjoyed/enjoy and the one thing you don't/didn't enjoy about the whole thing?
